Levonorgestrel

White or nearly white crystalline powder medicine, soluble in chloroform and acetone, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in water. Levonorgestrel is the isomer of norgestrel and the bioactive active component of norgestrel. It has strong progesterone activity, androgen, estrogen and anti estrogen activities. The compatibility of levonorgestrel with estrogen is one of the short-term oral contraceptives widely used at home and abroad.
