White or nearly white crystalline powder. Crystallized from acetone hexane, M.P. 197.9 ℃. [α] D22-185.7 ° (C = 0.5, chloroform). It belongs to the class of progesterone. It is a contraceptive with the strongest progesterone effect and the lowest dosage. Its progesterone activity is twice that of levonorgestrel. It has no androgen and estrogen activity, and has anti estrogen effect. It is used as an anti progesterone drug.
